Want to volunteer at the Lester Public Library?
The Lester Public Library is currently looking for volunteers for the following positions. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please pick up an application at the library’s circulation desk. Some of the jobs available are:
Youth Summer Program Assistant
Volunteers are needed to assist with programs during the summer reading program. Volunteers are asked to help set up, clean up and provide assistance to children and their parents during the program. This may include leading a game, helping with craft projects, monitoring an activity station or other tasks depending on the program. Some programs are outside and may include standing for an hour or more. Volunteers should be prepared for large groups of children. Times and dates vary.
Volunteers are needed to straighten materials on the library shelves. Volunteers are asked to do some light dusting as well. Lifting, reaching, bending and kneeling are required for this job. Time frame is flexible and can include day, night and weekend hours.
Volunteers are needed to read through back issues of the Herald Times Reporter on microfilm and create index cards for each death, marriage, and birth. These index cards will be used for genealogy purposes. Must have good hand-writing and excellent attention to detail.
No experience necessary, we will train you. Time commitment is flexible.
