Book to Art

Read a book and create art it inspires. And by art, we mean any form, from baking and batik to watercolor and woodwork. Meet to share impressions of the book, show your art and describe your creative process. Meet at 11:00 AM the fourth Saturday of every other month.

Read to Me
(Ages 0-5)

Earn a reading badge and PRIZE for every five books read to you by someone special or that you read on your own. Read 50 to complete the challenge.

Read on My Own
(Ages 6-11)

Earn a reading badge and PRIZE for every two books you read or listen to. Read 20 to complete the challenge.

Teens (Ages 12-17)

Earn reading badges and PRIZES like books, stickers and free mini-golf @ Village Inn on the Lake & RV Park! Read six books to complete the challenge.

Adults (Ages 18+)

Track days spent reading and log books read to earn earthy rewards and up to seven entries into the drawing for $100 in Chamber Bucks—the more you read, the more chances you have to strike it rich!

New year, new genre challenge! Follow the call of magic into stories filled with brave heroes, curious creatures, eerie enchantments, and fairy-tale twists. Wander through beloved subgenres and award-winning epics as you shape your own reading adventure. Complete the challenge to earn a heroic patch worthy of any adventurer. Ages 18+

200 Books Before High School

Keep your reading momentum going with the 200 Books Before High School challenge! Celebrate your inner book nerd as you dive into the books you love—ebooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, and even titles you’re reading for school can all count toward your goal. Along the way, earn reading-themed prizes, stickers, and of course, FREE books for your own library. Ages 11-14.

Above Average Reader

Through December 31 for ages 14+

According to the Pew Research Center, American adults read an average of 12 books a year—half read four or fewer. How do you rank? First-time participants who reach 13 books earn a canvas tote; returning readers who already have a tote will receive a special 2026 patch instead. Finish 52 books by year’s end to earn an exclusive SUPERIOR READER patch for your tote.

Ongoing for ages 18+

Don your deerstalkers, dear readers: On dark and stormy nights (sunny afternoons will work too), investigate different subgenres and award-winning titles. Upon completion of this clandestine operation (well, it’s really a public challenge open to all adults), snag an elusive patch that reveals the intriguing secret to sharp-eyed operatives (your friends and neighbors) that the bearer is a shrewd connoisseur of mystery.
